BIO
Tim Martin (He/Him) is a writer, designer and theater administrator of Yurok and Irish/European heritage born and raised in the occupied land of the Lenni Lenape, who lives in Bryn Mawr, PA. He has a BA in Writing and Literature from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at the Naropa University. He can not remember experiencing boredom and was the only kid in his 5th Grade Class not to sign the Just Say No Pledge. His serial poem, ricochet, has been recorded twice and was turned into a performance piece. His work has appeared in The Artistic Rebuttal Project, Concelebratory Shoehorn Review, iOutlaw, One Less Magazine, Fugacity 05, Hamilton Stone Review, Big Bridge #10, Altered Books Project, The Attic Which is Desire and other small magazines. A Philadelphia-area Designer, Stage and Production Manager, he has worked with dozens of theatre and dance companies including: EgoPo Classic Theater, InterAct, the Lantern, International Opera Theatre, Rebecca Davis Dance, Mum Puppettheatre, Enchantment Theatre, Media Theater, Tribe of Fools, Commonwealth Classic Theatre Company, PearlDamour, New Paradise Laboratories, Bristol Riverside Theater, Bill McIntyre's Shooting Stars NYB and sundry others.
In the academic world, Tim has worked for Drexel University, West Chester University, Germantown Academy, The Shipley School and Swarthmore College.
Several of his plays and adaptations have been seen in the Philadelphia area, including One’s Self I Sing (part of Gay Fest for Quince Productions), Echo (Tribe of Fools), Tales From Turtle Island (Hedgerow Theatre), Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Nutcracker (both with Drew Petersen, Curio Theatre), and Anansi and His Stories (Curio). Tim collaborated on The Matter of Frank Schaefer (Curio), The Ballad of Joe Hill (Swim Pony), Once Upon a River (Hedgerow) (which won a Heritage Award) and the 2nd & 3rd Philly One-Minute Play Festivals.
Tim is the Associate Director of Main Fountain Garden Programming and Production at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, where he designed Fountain Shows since 2017.
